Privacy policy
What The Board keeps, where it comes from, and how to have it removed. Effective October 22, 2026.
Visitors
Browsing the site needs no account. We do not run advertising or third-party analytics, and we do not sell or share visitor data. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for a short time to run and protect the service.
Account holders
A free account stores your email address, when you signed up, and when you last signed in. Sign-in works by a link we email you; there is no password. A session cookie keeps you signed in; it is not used for tracking. If you buy a membership, Stripe handles the payment and keeps your card details; we keep only your Stripe customer id, the plan, and its status. We email account holders only sign-in links, receipts, and notices about the service, plus anything you opt into.
Providers that process this for us: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), and Stripe (payments). Each acts under its own privacy terms and on our instructions.
To delete your account and its data, email the contact address on the How it works page from the address on the account.
People who appear on the site
The Board is a data aggregator of public information only. For public X accounts that tracked coaching staffs follow, it records the handle, display name, public bio, profile picture link, follower counts, and the hometown or school a person lists in their own bio, together with which tracked coaches follow the account and when each follow was first seen. It does not collect anything from private accounts, direct messages, or any non-public source, and it does not ask the people it lists for information.
Phone numbers, email addresses, and birth dates that appear in a public bio are removed before the bio is shown. Locations are reduced to a city and state for the team maps.
A follow is just a follow. The site reports that one account follows another. It does not say, and you should not read it to say, that any offer, contact, visit, commitment, or rules issue exists.
Many of the people listed are high-school players, some under 18. Removal: if an account is yours or your child's, email the contact address on the How it works page with the handle and we will take the pages down and stop recording the account. No reason is needed and there is no fee. We also honor removal requests from coaches and staff.
Retention
Follow history is kept as long as the site runs, because the history is what the site is. Profile details are refreshed from the public profile at each check and overwritten. Account data is kept until you delete the account.
Children
You must be at least 13 to create an account, and at least 18 to buy a membership. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13; if one was created, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will post a notice on the site or email account holders. Questions and requests: the contact address on the How it works page. The site is operated by The Board (a Maryland business) in Maryland, United States. See also the terms of service.
